In celebration of Women's History Month



Through the work of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, 1890-1892Susan B. Anthony, 1892-1900Carrie Chapman Catt, 1900-1904Anna Howard Shaw, 1904-1915Carrie Chapman Catt, 1915-1947 Caroline McCormick Slade '96, 1947-1951 who formed the National American Woman Suffrage Association finally in 1920 the 19th Ammendment to the United Stated Constitution gave women the right to vote.


The Ammendment stated:

[The right of citizens to vote shall not be denied because of sex.]
The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
[Congress given power to enforce this article.]
Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
